Foundation Stage

Our foundation stage includes nursery and reception which we call caterpillars and butterflies. Here the children learn and develop basic skills of play, teamwork, independance and academic abilities.

Please take a look at our classroom and some of our recent events in the gallery below.

Meet Mrs South

Having come across from our partner school ‘Simpsons Lane Academy’, this is my first year teaching at England Lane and I am excited to be teaching in your Reception class.
Having first worked in Private Day care and then with the Community Health Team, I supported families and children’s learning for 10 years before beginning my Teaching career in 2012. I have a great passion for The Early Years and despite teaching in other year groups I always seem to find myself back with the ‘little ones’. It is in these early stages of learning where children’s attitudes and desire for learning ignites, and there really is nothing more exciting to see than a youngster with a genuine thirst for knowledge.
I am a parent myself and understand how our children play such an important part of our lives. My two boys (just 15 months and 7 years old) keep me busy at home too. We love to spend time together exploring the outdoors, as well as our cosy time at home baking or snuggled up with our favourite books.

Meet Mrs Houston

I have been working at England Lane for a very long time - over 25 years - and have worked with many current parents when they were children in nursery! I work as a nursery nurse and love helping the young children to grow and develop. I have 2 grown up sons and 2 lovely grandchildren. In my spare time I enjoy making cards and jewellery.
