Safeguarding

At England Lane Academy, we have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This means that we have a Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and robust procedures in place. All staff including our volunteers and supply staff are DBS checked. Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will always ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with their parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that this is not in the child's best interests.

If you have a safeguarding concern regarding a pupil or a member of staff, please report to Miss C Milton, the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Mr Irving, or Miss H Prout, the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads.

Members of the public can make anonymous referrals to Social Care Direct. They will deal with your concerns and can offer advice and support on what to do. The telephone number is 0345 8503 503, this is a free and confidential phone line, open 24 hours a day.

You can read our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy on our Statutory Information page here.
